Work in Canada
Only Canadian citizens and permanent residents are eligible to work in
Canada. However, a Canadian business may apply for HSDC (LMIA)
clearance to engage a foreign worker on a temporary work permit if
there is a lack of a certain skill set or qualifications required for a
particular position.

The LMIA standards do not apply to some work permits. According to
the free trade agreements with the US, Mexico, Chile, Colombia, and
Peru, these are the candidates. Through these schemes, nationals of these
nations can acquire temporary work permits without requiring an LMIA.

There are unique allowances and exceptions for certain occupations in
Canada, including religious workers, sports, students, wives of students
and workers, and artists. We assist applicants in choosing the program
that best meets their requirements.
